The Kick-Off Meeting for the Horizon Europe MSCA project “Localization in Geophysics, Geohazards, and Geoengineering – LOC3G” took place at BOKU in Vienna, Austria, on March 14-15, 2024. The project aims to advance the understanding of strain localization in geomaterials through multiscale and multiphysics simulations. With a consortium of European and international partners, LOC3G combines geological surveys, laboratory tests, numerical simulations, and real-world applications to develop next-generation models for safer and more economical solutions in geophysics, geohazards, and geoengineering.
